IDT Block & Scat 4340 crank ?
On my new build, I was planning on doing a high compression, A460 headed, 4.60 bore / 4.50 stroke in an A-460 block in conjunction with a Scat forged 4340 crank.
My question is, I have the oppurtunity to purchase an Eliminator block at a considerable discount and I was wondering if it would be a bad move to put a Scat crank in such a good block?
Keep in mind, I'm probably looking at somewhere around the 1100hp mark when everything is said & done. I know the block is way, way over-kill for what I need, but the extra $$ isn't all "that" much. I just don't want my build to turn into something so costly that I'm 2 years in the making having to come up with the $$ to finish it.
The main thing that has me leaning toward the IDT block is (other than the decent deal I happened upon) that I could bore it 4.625 (and make it a 605) and have plenty left (unlike "most" A-460 blocks),..... as well as having 4-bolt caps on all five, not just the center three.
What the general concensous?
