Hoping Ford Techs Could Help Me
99 Ranger with 2.5 that has codes P1506 and P0102, I am just hoping maybe there is common problems for these codes. I have not tried anything yet, I figured I would ask first before scewing anything up. I know enough about this EFI stuff to be Dangerous..... Appreciate any help you could give me

Re: Hoping Ford Techs Could Help Me
Thanks 69f100...I already knew what the codes said but sometimes there is more than one thing that can cause a code so I was hoping maybe someone knew of the most common causes. I appreciate your effort though....at least someone willing to help here vs other sites. Got more responses and help on a big block site than a site just for the truck.....

Re: Hoping Ford Techs Could Help Me
Hey critters....I found the problem with the mass air...apparently when I changed air filter I didn't get the plug back in all the way.
As for the IAC I pulled it off and it was very oily. Don't know why as the truck burns no oil. I had another one from a wrecked truck that looked good so I put it on and cleared the codes. Thought all was good but then the light came back on. The only problem truck had is when you were driving down the road and you would slow down to pull in a driveway or for whatever the truck would die. After swapping the IAC it no longer does this. The truck actually runs good now but it still has the P1506 code. Appreciate any help
Well I cleared the codes again and it has not come back on but I did notice that now when I shift gears the engine will stay at a high RPM, if I just rev the engine it takes about three seconds before it will come back to normal idle. Again any help appreciated

Clean the throttle body and check for vacuum leaks. TPS could be an issue.

Hey critters, Thanks for the help. You were right on the money, I cleaned throttle body and repaired what looked like it could be a vaccum leak to me and it's all good. Really do appreciate the help.
