Nitrous converter shift drop
whats the ideal rpm shift drop need to be ? mine drops right at a 1000 rpms . i feel the comverter is a tad tight, my car went 4 hundreds faster on a 28 tire than a 29.5 tire , maybe because of the gear ratio change

That may be a tad much. Either loosen it up or spray more.
As far as your car slowing down, what are the incremental differences?

did they spec it to your combo? I wouldn't think they would put you in a 12 but they know what they are doing.

Re: Nitrous converter shift drop
Your mph says your converter is too loose and your shift drop says it's too tight. It's just an inefficient converter.
Measure the line pressures in the trans and call PTC. I think they should spec you a new one and they will be able to use that info. Those numbers are very crucial to get it right with their designs. They most likely will take your converter in trade.
The transmissions input shaft and stator tube must be matched as well.
As far as adding more nitrous, I'm not sure if your cam will allow that. You can try though.

You could add more spray but I don't think your cam will like it. You can try though.

Re: Nitrous converter shift drop
I think you would benefit from a 10". We just put a 19-3 in an x275 car that works well in a 582bbc.

he will pick up front half with a glide and will most likely need less gear to make it work even better.

thats ptc's designation. yes 19 blade. surprised me when we got it but it works great. we've run anything from their 00 to 13-0 in our small block stuff but their technology has changed in the last few years so their setups are different now.
