Which is the best gear ratio to run in a pg behind a552 around 700 hp truck is around 3100 with driver with 4.30 gears.

Stick with 1.80. Change rear gears if a gear change is required. Much cheaper.

the trans is not built yet i not sure what gears is in it it came out of a 66 chevy with a 6 banger it is the short tailshaft just wondering what gears would be the best as i start collecting parts for the build and oh ya it is a n/a engine not spray or anything

It probably has a 1.82 set. Don't use those. I can sell you a new mid range priced set if needed. And any other trans parts.

x2 dont use the 1.82 gear.a new 1.76{stock} may last a while but a good 1.80 would be best IMO.
