Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
Need a bit of input here,
the wheel i.d. is 2.177 about .010 smaller than the balancer witch is 2.187, so the wheel will not slide up on the balancer
( works fine on my fluid dampner ) has anybody else had this issue?
if so how did you fix the problem?
was thinking just get a brake hone and ream it to fit or should I take it to a shop with a lathe & let them take the .010 out...

Re: Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
Lathe for sure. It is normal to have a mis-match in the balancer register OD/iD and various accessories, requiring machine work or fabricated adapters to center everything up.
There is more than one "BBF" register diameter used by the aftermarket, and other balancers speced with "BBC" fronts ...or mixtures of both.
The IW is a nice piece....

Re: Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
Keith, I needed to ask you on the motor plate & pionter that I got from you do I need to mark the Balancer with a "NEW" TDC/0...??? cause the badass little pointer is nowhere nere 0 when the engine is at TDC.
Re: Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
You probably have a 10 O'clock pointer.
Depending on who specified your IW balancer, it probably has an 11 o'clock zero position.
If it comes out above the Danny Bee idler, it is 11. Below the idler it is 10.
I have Danny Bee pointers for either type.
I can just swap it out. Just give me a call.
Thanks

That Lem....he has all of those fancy camera crews.
That is an 11 o'clock in the pic.

Re: Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
F.Y.I. all of the I.W. dampers that I've seen have the 11 o'clock t.d.c. Being the same as the stock and FRPP bbf dampers.
Re: Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
No worries...we will get him all fixed up.
By the way Lem...
Even though all of my stuff is 10 O'clock ATI...I like the 11 o clock better for visibilty of the mark.
Plus..The I/W is awful pretty.
Thanks
Keith

You can call Innovators West and send them your damper so, they can install a crank trigger front cover.
OR, lathe cut the I.D. to the correct size.
Re: Inovaters west & MSD crank trigger wheel
yep,i think it was $100 very nice folks to deal with toormcomprandy wrote:69bluehotrod wrote:Need a bit of input here,

I would rather the entire Mustang be shipped here.
It is really looking nice.
Thanks

Coug, its for a long snout crank, if you need it they retail for around $450-460.00 I would take $250.00 for it.
I have the spacer to go with it if you need that also.
