Mounting Holley crank trigger wheel
I have a Holley HP EFI I am finally getting around to mounting on my 460. I have the Holley crank trigger wheel and I was wondering the best way to mount it to the balancer. My small block one I mounted it on the pulley bolts and had to machine the pulley spacer so this time I am wondering if there is a way to mount it to the balancer itself not affecting the pulleys. The balancer will be a Innovators West unit.

You got some machining to do.

Re: Mounting Holley crank trigger wheel
If you were using a stock length crank snout...
You could bore the hole to fit over the crank spacer and mount it to the back of the balancer ??
And/OR... do the same, except some sort of "hub" fitting on spacer to mount trigger to ??
That would put it in the "unused" space behind the balancer....

Re: Mounting Holley crank trigger wheel
Probably be kicked for this one, but if you machine the inner hole if necessary and use a pulley with a necked snout, clock the wheel and drill the holes for the pulley 4-bolt mount and elongate the bolts with adequate spacers why would the pulley a problem, it appears that wheel is pretty thin not like a msd or the like. IDK
Edit to say the inner hole on the wheel is to fit outside the neck of the pulley so it does not change the articulation of the setup.

Falconeh I think this is what you mean. This is a ELECTROMOTIVE DIS wheel I have. They are about 1/8" thick steel. There is a small space between the balancer and the hatchet where it will fit. I'm was just hoping someone would have somefirst hand eexperience.

It is NOT me when it comes to firsthand experience with this setup, but I did offer a potential solution based off of other first hand experience. Thank's for going easy there...me

Re: Mounting Holley crank trigger wheel
Here's how I approached the same issue for my build:
I cut the crank spacer in a lathe and turned the thickness of the 36-1 wheel out of it. Make sure you figure out exact spacing of the wheel before cutting on the crank spacer .
Have a good day!

Re: Mounting Holley crank trigger wheel
I ended up having the center machined and just drilled out the holes and put it behind the crank pulley.
