We may have to put up a poll and get a concensus on that, but my bet is that the owner will get the prize. Whole lotta ugly there.QtrWarrior wrote:schmitty wrote:And ugly wheels
I don't know which is uglier.. the wheels or the owner ???
But it is a good looking Cleveland...

I had a lot of trouble with Latemodel Restoration, sent wrong parts and did'nt want to take them back. I will not buy from them any more.

Re: 1986 Mustang GT Project
As much as I would like to say go ahead, I think you will have much more fun and be happier with the small block and manual trans. You will drive it more and it will be way more usable fun on the street. To take care of your big block fix find a 2005-2007 and stick the big block in that for a super sleeper. Or you could just send all those cars and parts to me.........

Re: 1986 Mustang GT Project
Ok ..... So I pulled the Cleveland out and decided to build a legal NHRA Stock Eliminator car......
Got Randy Malick at RM Competion helping me with the heads, induction and valve train. Sending the 5 speed to liberty for some upgrades and face plating...... And looking at one of those fangled soft lock clutches...

Re: 1986 Mustang GT Project
Yeah Randy's quite the sneaky guy when it comes to finding the grey area in the rules. And doing it on the low down He is rather innovative.

Yep....The rules say how far you can open a valve...but they don't say for how long.

Re: 1986 Mustang GT Project
Are you putting the lightweight factory package on it too, while you are waiting on the heads?

Never seen one, got minimum weights the the car is required to hit.

Re: 1986 Mustang GT Project
Remove the power windows and locks, gut or remove the heater/AC box, take all the sound deadner out, under carpet, under the headliner, remove all extra wiring. Then put the weight where you want it. Plenty of places to get rid of weight.
