Carb Spacers
Could someone please explain in layman terms the ins and outs of carburator spacers. How do you determine if one is needed and if so, what size. Thanks in advance.

They have tendencies however, the results are NOT carved in stone.
The only way to really know is to try several with your combination to find which one works the best for you ... otherwise it is simply an educated guess.

anytime we dyno an engine we try various spacers, also apply this to on track testing.
I have a shelf full of all types of spacers as a result lol

Spacers
I have a 532 in a '71 Pinto with a 456 chunk and a C4. I have a glide now but wanted to add a spacer to help the top end out with the trans change. I have a 2" and a 1" so to the track for some testing. I have also thought about adding nitrous. Does that work with a spacer or would the plate act as a spacer.
THANKS,
Geno

Re: Carb Spacers
the 1" supersucker or powercone spacers seem to work good most of the time. Again your just gonna have to do some testing. most nos plates are 1/2" thick but some are 1"....... again testing will tell the tale.

Thanks to all. I will start my testing with the NX plate (twin 6) and the smallest spacer and work up from there.. Thanks all. Geno

;)The heat isolation is worth having one regardless of h.p. gains.

Have you read this, might help.

I realise it will be different on different applications but should give you a ball park.

I will try both the Wilson and the Jomar both with and without a nitrous plate.

Re: Carb Spacers
turn that NX plate on and you'll forget about a spacer!
