H1N1 flu anyone?
I have been sick the past couple of days, but yesterday i started to take a turn for the worse. Last night was very rough, Very high fever, My whole body ached, didnt get any sleep. the wife took me to the hospital early this morning 5 am or so...and sure enough... i got the swine flu. THe thing that surprised me the most is they just kicked me out, "go home take advil" I was dumbfounded....i thought this was a big deal, apparently it isn't if youre a generally healthy person.
Has anyone else had this????

Supposed to be widespread here, one guy at work got it.....supposedly. He just went home and toughed it out and it was over in a few days.
I've prolly had the flu 3 times in my life, never a shot.....always get it over xmas...............go figure.
Hope ya get to feeling better, I hear lots of whiskey helps..............
I think the whole swine flu bs is just a bunch of damn hype.......hell raise gas prices...why not.

Jon i dont think thats the flu at chrismas. its the damn eggnog. My sisters eggnog used to get me every christmas back home.
There was one kid that died from it about a month ago. I think they do take it seriously in the youngins.

Hate to say it, but it's not hype... My whole family has it, and it sucks... Thing is, it shows how mis-informed people are... The school's are telling the kids that they're only contagious for 24 hrs... It's actually more like 8 days... No wonder it spreads like it does... And yes Brent, if you're generally pretty healthy, you can make a pretty short go of it... We're trying to keep clear of my wife because wioth her being disabled, she can't fight it off as well... I pray everyday that she doesn't get it... Hope you get better Brent...

My son has it right now. Doug is right - you're contagious for a week. It's not much worse than an ordinary flu for the average person, but it's hell on pregnant women and anybody with pre-existing medical conditions. The thing that makes it so different is because it's so highly contagious. Hand washing is the number one thing to do to keep it from spreading.

I would be going to a different doctor. You need to take tamaflu and hit the tylenol for the fever. My daughter had it and we kept her home for a week. That is bs about the 24 hours and that is why it keeps spreading.

I had the flu a few weeks back not sure if it was h1n1 or swine what ever they call it but it took me over 2 weeks to get over it never went to the Dr. they always tell me what I already now most of the time and charge $100 .But with this flu felt different than any flu I have ever had,I know the older you get the harder it is to get over it, but the flu usally I'm over it in at lest a week.Nite quill ,ibuprofen, sleep, eat, and drink alot of gateraid

Re: H1N1 flu anyone?
I got the swine flu a long time ago (1976) when I was in basic training. I was in the hospital for 8 days, probly cause of the incubation peroid. But I can tell you for at least 6 of those days I was in very bad shape. Don't remember much cause I was heavily medicated. Not good stuff.Hope you feel better soon and everyone else take precautions. I hope I don't catch it! Not sure if I'm immuned or if I more susceptible. Have a check up coming soon and I'm asking the doc that one. Take care

Yep that stuff is running around here like wildfire too. My brother was diagnosed with it yesterday, and a middle aged guy about 15 miles east of me was taken to the hospital because of it. He never went home. Day after he was in the hospital, it killed him. Dehydration and high fever(105+) killed him. Drink them fluids and watch the fever.

Our doctor gave it to my wife when she thought she had it (right when my daughter was sick). I guess it is an opinion thing.
