Had another bad luck day today. I got the transfer case swapped out Thursday, and went to try my luck today at a timed race. Got up to the line, and let it rip, somewhere between the 1st and 2nd shift it broke the U-joint on the front output of the T/C. Got a little wild on the top end, and my day was over. At least it stayed on all four wheels. It was sliding sideways for a fair bit more after the vid quit. Time to get a full 1350 joint on there, instead of a hybrid 1350/1330 joint.

Nice that you didn't tear up more stuff. Cool  I broke a joint at launch and tore up everything from the ring & pinion to the planetaries.Shocked  I guess you just live right.Wink

Wheel hop was when the U joint came unglued. 3.08 front, and 3.90 rear, it comes up to about 7% overdrive to the front by the rollout measurements.

I have some new parts on the way, a 1350 yoke for the T/C, and a new set of springs for the front end. I hope that this will go away now, and it will be smooth sailing for a while again. Thanks for all of the help guys.Cool

Just my opinion ...
 From the looks of it all, the front wheels are planted to hard compared to the rears at the start for the 7% overdrive.
Less overdrive in the front would seem to be better in a situation such as that.
