E3 flywheel and a D1 block engine with a non hatchet weight no good............ ?

I feel a slight vibration but the E 3 fly wheel should be an external balance and out of balance ?

An 83 flywheel sure is for an externally balanced engine unless the balancing of that engine has been modified inside.

Randy it has about 8 to 10 3/4 inch holes drilled along the outside edge on the back of the flywheel. I'm sure its not zero.

I am going to spin it up and check the balance.

I'm not sure of the relationship the block and E3 crankshaft have as to vibration .. Very Happy  .. but somewhere along the line the E3 crankshaft may employ smaller diameter counterweights. Could that effect the balance of the rotating assembly as you mention?

Dave.

It's a D1 block and crank ie internal balance no hatchet spacer in front, and the original flywheel for the 84 truck.
