new to the board..
hey guys.
im new to the board and new to 385 series in general. i dont think i have ever ridden in a finely tuned bbf, they have all been smoggers.
here what i am building:
i have a mud truck on 38's (putting the 40's back on soon).
good lift
460 stock smogger bottom end.
msd dizzy /6a box
d0ve heads (in the machine shop)
performer intake coming
750 street demon 3 bbl in the mail (1904)
1" phenolic spacer
L&L long tube headers
comp cam 34-235-4 (1400-5600, 111* lsa, 218/226 @.050, .514/.524)
i am going to port the heads according to scotties site and port the rear 1/2 of the phenolic spacer out to let that 1 rear barrel flow. gasket match, etc.
comp says the cam is the "largest for stock converters"
i think i went 1 cam too large for my build. i think i might need an rpm airgap for this or to drop a cam size. i dont know tho, performer is 0-5500, the cam is 1400-5600.
but, with the added plenum volume of the spacer ported out for that one large barrel in the rear, and the smaller primaries, it "should be" plenty torquey on the bottom and when the secondary opens up, haul butt.
i am building it for an everyday 4x4, towing a camper or towing chevies out of the mud.
let me know what you guys think and where i can change it.
if interested, i have a brand new stealth intake. its too much for my build.

Re: new to the board..
thanx guys! i just got my performer in the mail today from a member on 460ford.com.
a lil clean up and some port matching and on it goes.
i think its going to be nasty with the demon 1904 spreadbore. lots of low end grunt.
