Idt premier block ?
What bore size does the block start out? I want the strength but don't want to go over 521 cubes.

4.5x 4.1 would get you there.

I'm thinking about a single turbo and doing what the Chevy guys are doing with twins around here.

The upper-level Eliminator blocks would need to be sleeved down technically speaking, but I think the Eliminator Sportsman block will accomodate a +0.030" 521 stroker kit. So will the standard A460 block.jason wrote:It must need to be sleeved down then to make a 521?

Or just don't use a standard kit, if 521 or less is the goal, the 4.5" bore with a stock 3.85 stroke crank is going to put you at 490 cu in, or you could go with a 4" stroke and be right at 521. Big bore is going to let you use big heads, and short stroke will let you RPM the bejeasus out of it if you want.
I built a 4.630" bore 3.9" stroke, likes RPM.

I have an a460 block in the car now but it's a 572. My cars weighs 3500#. I would hope a 521 with a 106 mm will get it into the 7's.if it revs. Easier will it spool up quicker?

Re: Idt premier block ?
Spool speed is a function of turbo build, but something that RPMS well plays well with turbo applications.
Punch the A460 block out to max bore. Mine went 4.630 with no sleeve. Then go with the shorter stroke crank..... The A460 block is 18 head bolt compatable. No reason to go to the other block unless there is something hurt in yours.

I'm planning on putting the 572 in my 68 dodge dart. So I'd be starting over with the mustang. I just started the build on the dart last week. So I figure go with the strongest block if I'm gonna start over.

That ought to fire up the local "Mopar or No Car" guys! I'd put a set of Kaase Boss heads on it with plain valve covers and let the Mopar guys try to figure out what kind of Hemi is it?jason wrote:I'm planning on putting the 572 in my 68 dodge dart. Tell the Mopar guys not to sweat it. Chrysler Marine was using 460s in there marine applications in the late 80s! That makes it okay doesn't it?
