Alignment opinions please
I have a local dealership that has a very nice laser alignment machine that I have been using when I make changes. These alignments are done at ride height. This dealership alignment guy knows nothing more than to align as a street car as I know even less than him. Occasionally I'll bump into a long time drag racer testing a new car talking about needing to fix the camber because its "scrubbing a bit off". I honestly have no clue what he means other than I know he is saying his alignment is off hurting et. My question is, is there a happy place I need to be telling my alignment guy to put me or should I jack the car up as if its under power during the alignment to keep from "scrubbing some off". Looking for every little bit here on this deal

As much caster as possible, camber basically straight up/factory setting, toe 1/8" with the front jack up simulating going down the track....thats how I did mine, 85 LX.

X2. Except bailing twine instead of string. Lolrichter69 wrote:I set my cars up in my shop w a 5 dollar angle finder, a tape measure and some string.
I jack the front up until the bulge is almost out of the tire.

I have always used jack stands, a mason line and a Stanley tape measure. 3/18" -1"4 toe in at ~ racing level. (not always ride height) You should also limit the amount of suspension travel.

Same here as well. Straight as an arrow. I try to limit the front end "settling" as well as it goes down the track. Either keep it up or keep it down but don't let it settle too quick or it'll get squirrely if there is any bumpsteer...
