BBC Heads
I hate giving limelight to brand x crowds, but I just saw this dyno on the dragzine sight, and how the heck do these heads make that kinda power with only 9.2:1 compression? They seem to only flow like P-51's. They spun it to 7200, but still...dang.
any insight?

There is a LOT to be said about intake manifold development ...windsor wrote:I hate giving limelight to brand x crowds, but I just saw this dyno on the dragzine sight, and how the heck do these heads make that kinda power with only 9.2:1 compression? Re: BBC Heads
I was wondering that myself, it has to be the key in this case. Although I'm sure it had a honker of a camshaft in it.
Would the taller deck of a bbf allow for longer runners though? Would that be a benefit?

When it comes to HORSEPOWER in a big engine ... a longer runner is a hindrance; or I should say TWO really long runners and TWO short ones are not a good thing except for a very wide torque band.windsor wrote:I was wondering that myself, it has to be the key in this case.
