429 SCJ/PI 1978 2WD F150 Headers
Does anyone know of a source for these headers off the shelf, and what are the primary tube size, if any are available?

I have the Hookers on my 79 F100 but plan to switch to the mad dog headers eventually.

What heads are you running, and how is the port alignment. I did not see any footnotes on the Super Comps, as to CJ/Scj use, but it is an old source. What size primaries due the Mad Dog headers you are going to have? Thanks for the reply.tfsbbf466 wrote:I have the Hookers on my 79 F100 but plan to switch to the mad dog headers eventually.

I have TFS streets and they have the cj exhaust port. The hooker headers are 1 7/8 primaries with a std 460 header flange. They block the very top of the port by maybe 1/8-1/4". You can modify them which I will be doing next week when I change my converter.supervel45 wrote:What heads are you running, and how is the port alignment. Have you looked at the Mustang, Fox chassis conversion header from Hooker...? I think they may fit the truck
Re: 429 SCJ/PI 1978 2WD F150 Headers
The fox hookers will fit the 80-96 trucks but on the 67-79 trucks the steering box is in the back so I don't believe they will fit. I haven't personally tried it though. The Mad Dog headers are a fenderwell exit like the 4wd trucks.rmcomprandy wrote:Have you looked at the Mustang, Fox chassis conversion header from Hooker...? I think they may fit the truck

Re: 429 SCJ/PI 1978 2WD F150 Headers
Thanks, let me know how it works out. Too bad Hooker, or Headman, does'nt make any bolt on's with all the new aluminum CJ/Scj heads out there, and all the 73-79 F150's still out there. A 2" primary would be nice to go with all the stroker kits, so you could bolt them on and go. If the Fox converson's would work, as Randy suggested, would be great, but sounds too easy? Maybe they could me modified if they are not too close to the gear box if that is the case. A new flange for a CJ head with a 2" primaries mated to the 1 7/8" Hooker Super Comp headers, to make step headers is an idea. Does anybody think that would work?tfsbbf466 wrote:I have TFS streets and they have the cj exhaust port. The hooker headers are 1 7/8 primaries with a std 460 header flange.
