Diamond pistons
Guy's I'm building a 557 out of my broken 514 for a spare since i have everything but pistons. I'm trying to go with the 40724 Diamond pistons but waiting on the machine shop for the final hone size. How much bigger can you build a piston using the .005 over ring size? Next if this will not work out why could i not have Diamond build the same piston in a 4.470? (CHEVY) i have room in the block if it comes to that

+.006"-.007" ...I'll depend on how much end gap you want.
Have your guy hone the block to .4.445" and stick an unfiled top ring in it and see what you have for end gap.
I've had a lot of + .005" pistons made .

Well by the time the machine shop got done cleaning up the bore it came out to 4.450, this sucks as these guy performed allthe other work before the cylinder work and now i have another $$$$ in this block. so i have been seraching for 4.450 rings and found total seal makes a set. so if i can get a piston made for this bore size and a .043/.043/3/16 ring package I'll be good to go.
