Ford Motorsports A460 Flow number (stock)
Guy's I'm looking for the original flow (unported) flow numbers for the Ford Motorsports A460 heads with a 2.30/ 1.88 valves. just trying to compare what we have.

Re: Ford Motorsports A460 Flow number (stock)
I believe that the heads will flow good numbers ported. But I also remember the chamber leaves a little bit to be desired.powerstrokeace wrote:Guy's I'm looking for the original flow (unported) flow numbers for the Ford Motorsports A460 heads with a 2.30/ 1.88 valves. just trying to compare what we have.

Re: Ford Motorsports A460 Flow number (stock)
This is the deal. I'm having a debate with my head guy here. He say there been some minor pocket work done bit I think not. These heads wee flowed on his bench In 2002 and intake maxed out at 383 @ .700 and he recorded the same flow at .800? The exh. Was 240. @ .700 and 247@ .800. So I'm just trying to get him to understand that there pretty much stock. The pocket work may have been to I shroud a valve ?

Mine had nothing done in the short turn cuz I didnt know what to do at the time.it took a lot just to get them to fit the gasket.they had defiantly never been run.they only went 360.

Get after the short side, it is shaped like a 90 degree turn. Do a small amount at a time and check your results. Flow will come quickly.

My ported ones are listed on Stans site under dfree383, they have a 45 degree valve job and TI intakes.

In some cases yes, but I do not have back to back tests on these heads.

Biggest reason for the Titanium, killing valve weight. Easier to control valve when it weighs 30 grams less.

If the ti valve is shaped better the flow certainly can be better. If the valve is just a repo of a steel valve it'll just be lighter.powerstrokeace wrote:DOSE THE TITANIUM IT TAKE FLOW BETTER THAN THE STAINLESS?dfree383 wrote:My ported ones are listed on Stans site under dfree383, they have a 45 degree valve job and TI intakes.

Re: Ford Motorsports A460 Flow number (stock)
Here's the deal. I'm sending these heads to someone in KY and he's going to look them over for not a max port deal but a velocity deal since we have no air up here. Also will reflow the heads here as my local guy has never had any A460 heads (Motorsports or TFS) flow more thatn 418/295(18bolt tfs) on his flow bench. I have a 2nd set of FORD MOTORSPORTS heads that have been mill to 67cc chambers and he flowed these after his valve job and the flowed 402/282 (ported by someone). The 2nd set i tried selling a few years back but desided to keep them and put them back on this motor they came from.

Re: Ford Motorsports A460 Flow number (stock)
I thought I had a "unported" sheet, but I couldn't find it. These were ported ... more than lightly but not maxed out by any means. date was '99. the 380 numbers that was stated sounds about right.
these head were further "rubbed on" and are now on the 528" pump gas deal I did. 843hp at 6,900
