Help Identifying carb 1050? Empty Help Identifying carb 1050?

Post  MiamiSC October 30th 2013, 5:38 pm

Hey guys, can you look at the pictures and let me know if this is a 1050 dominator 4500 series? My co-worker is selling it to me but he's not sure if its a dominator 1050 or not. Also if its a good deal for $400? Or too old school.

Thanks in advance.!

It is an older 4500 volley dominator. It looks to have some modification to the top of it. I can only assume its a 1050 or 1150

It looks like a 4500 but to know if it is a 1050 need the carb # off of it could be a 1150 or 1250. I payed $300 for a 1150 but not saying 400 is bad deal but yiu can add a rebuild kit if it has been sitting.

Thanks guys. I couldn't find any numbers on the carb. Is this a good deal for $400?

The carb has two nozzles on the left hand side but is missing the other two on the other side. Is this normal?

I think it looks like this one. http://www.bangshift.com/forum/showthread.php/39266-Holley-1050-List-6464

Its been neglected and monkey fucked. $400.00, might be alright if you know anything about rebuilding carbs. The booster on the primary has extension nozzles on it, the one on the secondary doesn't. If its set up for single 4bbl use it makes sense. The tune on it, can be way different than what your engine needs, and at a minimum I would add the cost of a Holley Master rebuild kit, and go through it nut bolt and washer.

Get some I.D. calipers and measure the inside diameter of the venturi.

Old carbs can work great, but that particular one has seen better days. Pass and find a newer 8082.
