PG input shaft
I have a powerglide with a 1.96 low gear set (straight cut), and a hardened glide input shaft. I think I want to switch to a turbo input shaft. Is this a simple plug and play deal or what?
I also have a PA SFI bell that I used on my C4 that I plan to use with the PA adapter ring. Is anyone familiar with this set-up? Will I need anything special converter or flexplate wise?
Thanks

Re: PG input shaft
shaft should be plug n play, just get the same length and type (ring style or ringless)
not familiar with the adpater ring, easiest way is to get a bbf/glide ultrabell and use a reg chevy converter and a jw wheel.

It is nice to be able to use a gm converter. When you need 3 shots at getting the stall right.

Re: PG input shaft
the Turbo spline shaft is the same at the PG spline shaft. plug and play. there are 2 different length input shafts thou.. but that depends on your gearset type

Re: PG input shaft
splines are different on the converter end, the trans side is the same. most aftermarket shafts are universal.

Re: PG input shaft
Tommy just a note if you pull the input shaft while it is laying on the Pan you screwed up. It has a thrust washer in the planetary the input goes thru and if pulled laying down it will drop, if you Remove or wish to remove it stand trans on end the washer will stay in place, So in the end it is not just a plug and play deal, if you allready pulled it get ready to pull the trans apart to center the thrust washer...if you have been in one of them you would know this....
