Post  70Mach1 December 13th 2013, 4:13 pm

Hi guys and gals. Just joined a few days ago. My name is Randy, I live in Williamsburg, VA. I am currently (on going really since 1985) working on a 70 Mach 1 that my dad and I raced back in the late 80's at Suffolk Raceway. Now my daughter and I are trying to bring it back to life with a BBF. It's not a classic but a stripped down race car that needs some front suspension attention before we put the engine in. Looking for any advice on building the motor and which suspension would be a good street/strip combo.

See you in the forums!

Here is a link to my photobucket album. Some of the pics are from the last time it was running. The ones with the hood scoop are the most recent.

Yep. I use to be closer. Just moved from the Chester/Chesterfield area about 2 years ago. I use to race out at VMP in the 90's with a red 87 GT. Had it running high 12's just by changing the upper intake and 3:73 gears w/5 speed. Use to have a blast with that car. Now I've got the itch again and I have had my dads car tucked away at my brother for a while. Waiting to get a friend of mine to help me with the front end and then I plan on (for now) building a pump gas 521 w/iron CJ heads that I have, then when I get the funds freshen it up and add P51's. We will see how it goes.

I was there then most likely. We probably walked by each other. Good luck on the build.
