Shipping Charges.......WTH
So I called Hairy Glass today in Jacksonville, FL to order a new Mustang II fiberglass hood for the car. The hood itself was $300 but the shipping was $150. That is a flat fee! I guess I will just keep the old one. Crap! $150, are you kidding me......

I hate to say it, but shipping is real bad. It costs about $1.50 per mile in fuel and fixed costs to operate a semi these days.

I understand with payroll, fuel, insurance, and taxes that you are correct. To a single consumer it was just a shock when 2 years ago I ordered a front-end (much bigger) that the cost was $82, that's over double in two years.

I tried to order a rollcage kit for a guy. Truck freight DOUBLED the cost...so we bent our own.

The item and material is a "high claim" item.

Takes up space on the truck, probably crated with wood in some fashion too.

if the item can be shipped to were you work or a place of business near by you will save around 1/3 the cost.
