I would think on something like on top of a 8-71 in a T-Bucket with a Big Block would be cool.

Just looked at Victory NSS Association's website. They have 2 races at Gateway this year. Charlie how would that Blue Thunder intake work on my combination?

I would think they would work pretty good. The Gateway thing sounds doable. Where's the link to Victory or whatever?

Re: Dual Quads on a 460
I had heard they were coming to Gateway this year but I wasn't sure if they let the 385 series engines in. I don't think I would have to change much just cover my aluminum door panels and put some 10.5 W's on it.

Re: Dual Quads on a 460
So Victory allows the 385 series engine, with 2 X 4 carbs,,,in the old FE chasis Super Stockers. And the have a 10.5 W limit on slick size. Have I got that right?

Re: Dual Quads on a 460
This is all I found on their site for rules. http://www.victorynss.com/index.php/rules
If you watch the 1st video on their home page http://www.victorynss.com/ they show a white 64 Galaxie at the 2 minute 36 second mark. It has a 460 based motor under the hood with a Blue Thunder intake. I'm assuming this might be dragsterdick's car. Maybe he can chime in for sure but it definitely does not look like an FE motor to me. Before I get serious and buy an intake I would want to call Chris Schnieder to confirm that they would let me run. I also have to see if there is a Gateway points race either of those weekends at those events. It says that the cars can only run one class so that might conflict if I run the Gateway Bracket points again. Hopefully Gateway will post their schedule soon so I can see which dates they have bracket races and decide if it would be worth it to modify my car for NSS.

Let me do some checking on the manifold we've got here, maybe the manifold can be loaned for R&D purposes. Also, I want to get with Paul Kane on those 850 carbs he pictured. Can they use the small float bowls and go in-line?

Good News and Bad News
The good news is I spoke with Chris Schnieder tonight and he confirmed that they are allowing the 385 series engines to run in the Fairlanes and Galaxies. The bad news is with my front suspension modifications (rack and pinion and struts) my car would not be allowed. Its understandable that they want to keep the cars looking as original as possible so I know why they have those rules. I raced the car for several years with the stock front suspension and after switching to my new set up there is no way I'm going back. I think they are definitely making the right decision because FE's have gotten way too expensive (imo) to race. Charlie if you ever want someone to test an intake set up in door slammer I'd be up for it but I don't think I'll be able to run with the NSS classes.

Charlie's Dual Quad Intake
Heh Charlie, Tell me about the intake and the modifications if you can? I would be interested in trying it as I do run with Victory of course. ( dragsterdick@comcast.net) 630-494-1065 By the way , where are you?

Probably still on the small side.
So were you Serious?

Yes he is and is one of the few that understand IR set ups need BIG cfm as they do not have a common plenum to draw from. Take the Boss 302 '69 trans am engine which used TWO 1100 cfm dominators or take a look at four Weber carbs. Put either combination on a common plenum manifold and you need 500 ci to take full advantage of the cfm.
A good modification to gain more cfm out of a 660 would be to put down leg booters in the main body. This would up them to around 770 cfm. Ford ( who paid for the development of the center squirter , Dominator , and double pumper) had some hand made ( SK numbered) 780 cfm center squirters made but they are pretty rare.

I know GT, I also Think The Rule Carries Over Somewhat to Dual Plane Dual Quads as they have more plenum volume also, and it came up in another thread on a 521/528 Combo with ported SCJ Heads and a Big Roller Cam.
