Motor mounts for a 77 F100 Empty Motor mounts for a 77 F100

Post  57custom January 17th 2014, 12:46 am

I am putting a 521 in my 77 F100 shortbox and am wondering if there are stock mounts for the engine to frame. I had a 351 windsor in it before i took that out. So there is a tall mount on each side with a single slotted hole in it which I assume is stock. Very Happy

The 390 has 3 holes but you can only use two when you put it on a 460.

Worked for me with the addition of another bolt hole. (Ford 385/1982 F150)

Yes if you just hit the Lottery.
The 390 mounts are CHEEP, I used then on my truck for 15yrs no problems, never broke one and I ran the hell out of it.

I will give you a heads up of what not to do, from personal experience. Stay away from AdaptaMount and small block, as in 351M400 perchs. The 351W perchs may not apply, if there is no conversion mount available, but if there is, same goes. If you use them be sure and chain down the torque side of the engine. Ask me how I know, and how much it cost to find out.

Question was it a Windsor or 351M/400? They look similar to my mounts, and the rubber between the plates did not stand up. These may be a little different in the material used and how it is secured.

460 was available in 77 trucks, so go find one in a jy, and pull the perches.

IF your old motor was actually a 351M, Trans-Dapt sells a solid steel conversion mount to drop a BB in place, with the M perches. I used em, and they fit perfect, have held up for 6 years so far.
