Can anybody give me some feedback on cam research parts
I only have used comp or morel roller lifters. Does cam research use somebody else's lifters or do they make their own? Anybody used them and if so how do they compare to other brands? Anything bad about their cam designs to look out for? Thanks

years ago a friend of mine bought/overpaid for a custom sft cam from them for his bbf.
it had there no. on it and comps p/n on it turned out to be a magnum 294s off the shelf cam.
that did it for me id never buy one from them.
maybe theyre different now?

I have had 2 of their solid roller cams and a hydraulic flat tappet all custom ground. Both rollers did very well but did not peak where he said they would(we believe this was due to the intake we used). Hydraulic flat tappet ran well peaked where we wanted and had a very flat torque curve but we lost a lobe on it after a couple races(our fault for using the wrong oil during break in and after).

I've used a number of Scott Mains cams over the years with great results.
The one in my 800 hp 466 is one of his.
I haven't used his lifters, but I'd be willing to bet he uses morel for rollers. A lot of companies do.

I know that their adjustable cam drive is the best "bang for the buck" thing going and works really, REALLY well.
Scott makes them for the FE and the 385 only.
