Jegs double adjustable coil overs
Im at the bridge to of buying some double coil over shocks for an 89 mini tubed hatch. I know there are a lot of good shocks out there.
Has anybody on here ever tried or are using the jegs brand double adjustable coil overs? What kinda shocks are you using with your mini tub?
Thanks

Use Strange or QA1's first. Or find some used afco's and get them rebuilt for cheap. I can set you up with the guy if interested.

Re: Jegs double adjustable coil overs
Never messed with the Jegs double adj stuff. But looking at their pics online they look a lot like the QA1 doubles. Maybe QA1 makes them for Jegs??
If you don't want to gamble on who actually made them for Jegs, just get the Strange or QA1.

He doesn't have any used Afcos now but if you can find stuff he rebuilds them for cheap. And before you ask it's Menscer so he is legit.

If you are not wanting to spend the money, and I understand completely, then just use a Strange.

I heard that the jegs shocks were built by afco or qa1. Just jegs stamped on them.

Mike should chime in.....He bought a set for his car. Not sure if they are junk or not. I'd have to see the dyno chart

If they truly are QA1's then they would be a good starter set. They leak after a while but can be rebuilt as well. We've been mid 1.teens with a radial car with them consistently.

Nice. I've seen a few sets work but they seem to be one-off's. Last I heard Mark won't rebuild them anymore, neither would JRi.

QA1 will and do it custom. Naake, D&D, and many others will rebuild them as well.

That's good to know. I didn't know that Naake dealt with much drag stuff. Thx

Most of them are strictly circle track but if you talk to them they have a package that will work. Those circle track guys have been working those shocks over for longer than the drag guys anyways. Lol

Yes I did, they are not coil overs but Viking does have those also. I paid $375 for a pair of DA's shipped to my door. The price is attractive and they have a 2 year warranty, they are rebuildable and dyno tested. Chris King and his wife Christina the owners of Viking were once involved with another suspension company and if I recall correctly it was QA1.
As for their shocks I can not comment a 5 star rating as I'm still in the learning phase of where to set the adjustments and DA's are new to me. I can tell you last weekend out my car ET'd and mph'd the best it ever has....so I have to say something worked positive but I'm still having transbrake issues making my 60' less desirable

Afco's....no doubt Mark Menscer. He's $$$$ but shocks aren't an area to cheap-on IMO

Menscer. And they aren't as bad as you think for most applications as far as price.

Re: Jegs double adjustable coil overs
Im ready to buy some coil overs for my 89 mini tub hatch but im not sure about the shock specs as for extended and compressed and spring rate. I figure the car is going to weigh around 3000.
Thank for all the info.

Can you set the car up to ride height now to measure total length? As far as springs I'm going with my standard answer for around that weight and say anything from 110-125 would work. Everyone has their preference.
