Oil pump 460
Ok, so I got the old 429 out of my Fairlane. Trying to get the new 460 together and ready for install. I need to buy an oil pump for it, and my set up is a front sump. The oil pump that the PO bought for the motor is for a rear sump. My auto parts guy told me I have to use a HV oil pump to get front sump. That's hard to believe. The oil pump I have now is a Melling . I've googled front sump oil pump , and can only find rear sump stock pumps too. Is it true that I have to get HV pump, to install this motor in my car?

Re: Oil pump 460
Your parts guy is wrong the stock front sump oil pump is melling part M84, for a cj/scj front sump pump it is melling M84B(higher volume and pressure) but not a high volume pump, or a rear sump pump it is a M84D.
