Re: Thunderbird Ricky Smith Tribute Car
Roy went and made some hits, still need some clutch work had to abort some runs but it did a 1.12 60" with a slipping clutch . Will try and make the union co race on the 25th. Hard to find time to work on the car. away Its a 532 with eagle crank @ rods, probe pistons c8 heads erson roller cam. Funny it's a mud truck motor that don't know it's in a car now.

Re: Thunderbird Ricky Smith Tribute Car
just got the engine back together and stuffed back in the car, when I changed the oil pan I seen the #3 cam bearing sticking out a little to far, so when I checked it, it had spun in the block, DAMN!!! so took it apart had the block fixed and replaced the cam and 1 lifter, new rods, mains and rings and reassemble, sounds good and I'm now ready to head up to Gmsmkr's in Alabama to finish the roll bar, A-piller, sheet metal, cross member, and mount the seat and delay box, I will be making passes in Alabama to get it ready for PINKS in North Carolina, I will post numbers and hope to have video as well.

When are you coming up to 'Bama? I'd like to hook up with you and Michael...Maybe we could flog all this junk on one of many Alabama tracks.

Re: Thunderbird Ricky Smith Tribute Car
July 4th at Wilkesboro Dragway, Damn hot, rain, then more rain, then we race. Made it to the 3rd round, put my self out with a red light. Car was jumping out of the beams, need to slow that down to keep from red lighting. 5.57 @ 122 with a 1.15 60'. Not to bad for the weather we had. Steve https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41_BV0T187Q
