Is there a class in NHRA where you can run a blown 429 on alcohol in a front engined dragster with a wheelbase of around 90 inches.

A pic of something I was thinking about:

I was looking to see if anyone here is familar with dragsters if this is something you can still build and run, or if NHRA is trying to stop these kind of builds.

Thanks,

Dave

S & W makes a kit or a rolling chassis.

I'm not so much looking for a kit as I am about finding the class that this style of car can run in. I was looking at http://www.nitrocentral.com/ and they seem to have several classes:

Nostalgia Eliminator N/E class. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can only go to 7.50 et in that class?

7.0 Eliminator class. And for this class, you can only go to 7.00 et?

I'm in the learning state right now for this, so is the "Eliminator" class where you're racing against the clock, with handicaps and such?

I don't know if these questions are in the right department, but hey, I didn't see a dragster Q&A section. Laughing

Thanks guys,

Dave

Wow, I haven't looked at S&W for a while, they have some cool stuff!! Prices seem reasonable too.

I know the old Good Guys classic/nostalgia drag events had classes for the old front engine dragster stuff. But I think they only went back to the 60's -70's era dragsters because there was a better chance of building a 60's - 70's FE dragster to today's specs while still looking very close to what they did back then. But that would be a much harder job to accomplish with a 50's era dragster like in the old pic.

Mark Williams offers a front engine chassis kit too. But it also has a more modern 60's - 70's look to it than a 50's look.
