New spy shot
Since we have a thread with old spy shots how about a new one.
Formerly Pat's car, now Ward's (Dr's Wife Racing)
A little SVO action.
Should be pretty bad ass when the suspension gets lined out and he can leave on the bottle. For now all motor with one of them all al-u-minnie-um A head deals.

Re: New spy shot
This pass could have been a mess. Temp fitting on the intake came out/blew out. Water under the tires. You can see the water spraying out under it in the pic. Car made a hard left just after the pic was snapped. Rolled over so bad the anti roll bar hit one wheelie bar hard enough to bend the wheelie bar.
Tried one more pass after that with a lower leave rpm to try and keep it off the bars but the track was gone by then.

Re: New spy shot
Thanks for all the postive feed back. Dave you missed A BUY on this car. When I got there and saw the car in person I could not believe that it had been for sale for so long for that kind of money. To top it off Pat is one of the best guys you will ever meet . As is his family. 'm looking forward to working out the few bugs it has and getting the driver up with the car. It has my A Head motor that Keth and Ted built, a fresh Wiring job,and a all new NOS set up. Only a plate system with 2 noids. That means I can still be the under dog at any race I go to. Oh, I have to work on the brakes or the laundry will be out every pass. Seems those northern tracks have more stopping room than the ones around here.

Well tried it again this week end. Got most of the new car issues settled down. The car is still not going down the track. It leaves hard and streight. But is blowing the tires off ad 60 to 80 feet. We dropped the ladder bars a hole but the rains came and ended the night. I know it wasn't the track David's bird went right down broad way with all the right ##'s

Re: New spy shot
Did you get any suspension video when you ran it...Going straight is good, won`t be long until it will be going straight, with the power planted, hooked up and rock`n. Chasing the suspension with enough motor to unload it beats the crap out of the alternative

Re: New spy shot
It takes a good shock to work on a high powered ladder bar car.

Re: New spy shot
I got it on the lift last. Night and started going over it. The right rear shock is hard as stone on compression and rebound. It does not respond to adjustment on either side. Anybody have a set of big guns they want to get rid of ??

Re: New spy shot
Found the prob. with the shock. I was going to send them back to strange. They were just freshly rebuilt. I decided to see what made them tic. At least from the out side. I found a set screw that was not tightened and a spring with a check ball that was missing. so I used the other shock to find out the size of the steel ball. found a check ball in my carb. box that was the same size, put it all back together and it work perfect. Guess the tec. just missed it that day? So back to the track. Hope this works I really don't want to spend $700 on a new set of shocks right now.

If it weren't for bad luck. Tried it again sat night. Made it out of the water box rolled to the staging lights no first gear. Still have second and reverse something in the band ?? Wasn't bad luck it has been a good trans. Just one too many pass's. I'll try again later.

Re: New spy shot
ward,
If ya ever need shocks check out my good freind Hall Lee at Express Shock Services in Florida. I have his number but cant find my phone!! Hes online. Hes designed many struts for the likes of Alston, Chassis Engineering and so on. I bought new QA_1's too cheap to mention here. Plus he dynoed them for free. Just a great guy hands down. Hes been the sport for 50 years plus. He even had a hand in the 428 CJ project when hired by Bob Tasca fresh out of college.
Regards.
Al

Re: New spy shot
pulled the trans. apart. It was fried from one end to the other. Forward and reverse clutch's Band. Pretty much all the steel's. Nothing was was broke. Think the pump got weak?? Going to replace all the wear parts and a new pump. It may have just died of old age. Try to have it going to try again this week end .
