Does anyone know if Diamond makes a shelf piston for a 604 BBF? The biggest I have seen on their site is 557. If they do what is the part number?
Thanks

Diamond makes "catalogue" 4.600" and 4.625" bore pistons for "A" heads, "C" heads, Profiler Heads or "THOR" heads.
For heads which are considered to be stock type you will need a "cuatom" piston from them for bores larger than 4.440" size...

Personally, I don't understand why anyone would run a 604" engine with a small "pea shooter" head on top of it.

I think the point is that the small head will be the limiting factor on horsepower. Yes they bolt on but you can only push so much air through the port no matter how big the engine is. You could put a little tiny head on an 820 inch engine and probably not make any more power.

"A460" headed street cars are pretty common these days...
