progress pics
slowly making some progress.
here is a before and after pic of what i have done to my tailgate.
i wanted to bring the ford script out more. it is inline with the tail lights now. instead of having the step down.

That's pretty cool Dave. It's funny to see something like that ,and stand there scratching your head...wondering what the hell is different about this truck??? People who don't do bodywork ,just don't realize the man hours it takes to do something even that subtle.Glad you got the patience and time to do it. Looks killer!!

Re: progress pics
its the stuff like this that keeps getting me behind schedule.
but i want it a certain way.
i already shaved the drip edges and welded all the seams on the truck in and smoothed them.
plan on pulling the cover off the bender next month and getting all the cage work finished up. the brake was starting to rust. been so long since i used it, almost forgot how when i went to make the filler piece. (tension settings)

Nice work & fit-up. Now comes the hard part. Deciding on welding everything together solid, or stitch welding everything together. Both methods have their good & bad points.

Re: progress pics
thanks for the compliments guys.
Dave,
I spotted it in with the mig, now as you say comes the fun. plan on tiggin most of it. might still mig some. will be alot of welding by the time i get it all seamed up.
did tig the two halves together. my brake is only a 48 incher and the part was 61. had to make it in two pieces then tig back together.
all the is left is the outside skin. so tired of the hammer and dolly (lol). bet the neighbors are too at 8 in the morning.
