compression , pump gas and street driving.
This is not a daily driver it is one of my customers Trucks . 68 F100 466 srp flat top piston with one valve relief Dove C head stock 3.85 stroke ,edelbrock rpm performer intake 2 in primary tube headers 3000 stall 3.70 rear gear c6 comp cams .506 intake. 493 exhaust lift duration @ .050 226 intake 241 exhaust 107 lsa. truck is not a race truck and not a daily driver just a cruiser. block has not been decked
I came up with 11.56 compression .
will this combo run on pump gas or will it require race fuel ? Thanks

Re: compression , pump gas and street driving.
Imo that's too much static compression for pumpgas w such a small cam and iron heads.
Im assuming its got a zero deck?
You have any idea what the cranking compression is?

Re: compression , pump gas and street driving.
Your compression if not decked will be around 10.5:1 with .030 deck. and with the quench that wide, you would be best to put a set of D3VE's on it. It will detonate on pump gas.
That would net you around 9.5:1 compression. That cam will build a lot of cylinder pressure with the narrow sep on it.
If your heads are not ported just swap them out.

Re: compression , pump gas and street driving.
Engine is not built yet , but already has the cam and pistons intake and headers. The heads is what he does not have yet and was wanting to buy my heads to put on his motor. They are the dove heads.
I told him I thought it would be to much compression as well.
Thanks for the replies I will tell him.

+2 That is too much static for an iron head , and almost too much for an aluminum head even on 93.
