pressing pistons off rods

Mornig, is there a home made way I can press pistons off rods ? I got several sets and wouldnt mind getting those old pistons off, just hate spending alot of money doing it.

No way other than an actual press, that I know about.

I've got some old factory manuals that show a tool that can be placed in a vice and turned with a wrench to remove/install pins. Wouldn't be too hard to make something similar with piece of pipe, threaded rod and a couple bolts.
