New body on old frame

The body on my 1978 bronco is getting pretty rough and I'd like to swap to a pick-up truck. All of my drivetrain is completely rebuilt, so I would like to use it in a new build.

I would like to get a salvage 2009-2014 F150 body and put on my bronco frame. I priced a salvage cab and bed for around 15-1800. I would then like to put a one piece fiberglass raptor frontend and raptor bedsides on the bed from FiberwerX.

I'm not worried about the technical aspect of doing this swap....

What I am worried about is: Which vehicle will I get a tag and insurance for? Other guys that have done body swaps-- How does this work?

I know on TRUCKS tv show they put a 1978 ford body on a new dodge diesel dually frame. Wonder which vehicle they have insurance on? Which vehicle is registered?

You register it as the body not the frame. I did a similar swap 79 complete body on 74 frame and had to register it as the 79

Although most later model frames have a vin on them somewhere the body vin in the dash is the one you title.
