Your sleeper build
If you was going to build a sleeper car or truck what would it be....
My sleeper would be a 85 Ltd wagon with a big block of course mild pump gas deal with full cage tinted windows and 12" steel wheels with stock hub caps 6" wide fronts with the caps also. I would even go as far to put the stick family on the back glass and a tow hitch and a clean paint job.

Fairmont station wagon with fake wood paneling and luggage rack. Badly blistered window tint job, dog dish hubcaps on steel wheels. Garter and graduation tassel hanging from rear view mirror.
Toss in a 4.30 stroke 588" A-head with Ultraglide and baby bottle....head for OKC.

Re: Your sleeper build
All would be mini tubed, (and converted to rear wheel drive where needed) small-ish tired (no steam rollers), simple full 8.50 cage hidden as much as possible (no F/C cage).
(A) Big bumper 4 door Maverick painted in G&R's colors with a faded Tijuana Taxi bumper sticker.
(B) Boxy single cab long bed Ranger (83 - 92) with rough work truck/beater look & bed tool box.
(C) 1st or 2nd generation tiny/boxy/ugly Escort station wagon. Would probably be a little easier to package everything in the s/w vs a 2dr hatch.
(D) Most any "ricer" platform having the normal ricer ad-ons (useless double decker monster deck wing, fart-can mufflers, etc) just for shits & giggles.

62-63 Falcon 4 dr. Tuck the cage right into the pillars with a removable head rest. Turbo small block or coyote engine to keep it nice and quiet.
The fellow that put the rollbar in my Pinto had a 67 Galaxie 4 dr with a 429 and huge amounts of nitrous. 20 years ago he was running 11's in that big ol tank.

Re: Your sleeper build
Man some of these sleeper builds would be a real hand full.... very creative guys. I like the ideas of the cage also.
What got this all started was a guy at the gas pump the other night in a 2004 ford explorer it had 325 radials and skinny's on it...( I should have thought to get a pic ) but I talk to him for a min and he finally told me a little about it it was built on a ranger frame and body set to the frame and combo it had a stock block 427w with a plate kit set for 150 with a aod trans.... he would not give me times

Re: Your sleeper build
49-51 Mercury made to look like a lead sled with air ride, cruiser skirts and the usual but all bad ass under the hood. Turbo'd BBF, C6. Electric exhaust cut outs. The best part would be watching the back end rise a little on the flip of a switch to expose the steam roller sneakers and seeing the wheel bars pop out the rear on hydraulics....Just before the exhaust opens up to expose the crazyness under the hood. ....Now where is that lottery ticket I haven't checked yet...

my 40 pickup is a real surprise to the streetrod crowd. It dont have a LS or a 350/350 pos in it. Most look and scratch their head a while before they ask what it is they want to know how i got it in the truck. 5.4 from a 99 lightning with a little overdrive on the blower and a tuner makes the truck a blast on the street. It ran 8.20 stock with 3.27 gear.
