Texas Road Trip
Wednesday morning my older brother and I are heading out to Canyon Lake, TX to pick up a boat and I would like to know what kind of conditions we’ll be driving through. We’re going to cut down through South Georgia and get on I-10 just outside of Tallahassee and take I-10 through Houston, then get off at Exit 607 in Seguin, TX, take 46 North to New Braunfels then 306 straight to the marina.
From what I can find on the Internet I-10 has not been affected by all the weather out there lately, it’s when we get to Seguin that concerns me with all the rain they’ve had and the tropical storm that went through there last week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try to avoid the Baton Rouge, LA area on I-10/12 during rush hours if possible. Nightmare to say the least... Worst part is crossing the damn river on the west side of town. Traffic both ways get stopped during peak hours...
I-10 in Houston should be fine. Nothing bad reported from our office there...

My neighbor just got back from there and he said there was some construction between Orange and Beaumont that held him up for an hour but that was about it. John is right about Baton Rouge. Try to avoid about 4-7 pm best you can.

We made back last night with my new toy and I guess we where lucky going out and coming back. No real bad traffic issues going through any of the major cities other than a rain storm in Mobile where is was raining sideways . We averaged 15.5 mpg going out and 11 mpg coming back towing about 6100 lbs. of boat and trailer. Ole F350 did good.

Nice boat! I've had my 2001 F250 4x4 7.3 diesel for 11 years. I love it and it's the best truck I've ever had. It's got 292,000 miles and runs good, although it needs more power, lol. It got 11mpg towing my 28' enclosed trailer to KY.
