Weekend race report...New best ET
For this race we rebuilt my 1050 and went from 96/96 jets to a 93/96 deal. I also put in some new NGK racing plugs with a higher heat range to match what the dyno operator likes to use. Friday night we had a shower and cool temps so that kept us from making any passes. Saturday morning the sun was out and the place was packed. The car starts better and sounds different. The throttle is more responsive and crisp. First run of the day was a 10.20 at 134mph. They had a .500 Pro tree series race with 10.90, 9.90 and 8.90 classes. My buddy who runs the series pushed me to try it and even though I had no throttle stop I said what the hell. As soon as I hit 3rd gear I would let the tach fall back to 5000-5200rpm and hold it to the stripe....The first pass I went 10.82 with a .510 light (Frank's C6 t-brakes are the bomb LOL), the 2nd I went 10.89 with a .533 light. I qualified 4th but I went .492 red in round one (how I managed a red on a Pro tree is beyond me )...Funny thing is we had identical 10.930 runs too. Next up was the box gamblers race - I'm still having trouble dialing the car and not breaking out, I went soft on what my weather station predicted (10.27) and put 10.22 on the window...I took the stripe but I went 10.188....Duoh! ...This morning the forecast was crap but we managed to get one time trial in before the rain started and I set a new best ET of 10.08 at 134.66mph. It made getting rained out a little less disappointing. The car is leaving harder and working well. I'm picking up 26mph between the 1/8th and 1/4.

No complaints other than the weather. Not one single race at any of the 4 maritime tracks has made it through a race weekend with Mother Nature ruining one day.
