64 ford galaxie parts.
How hard are parts to come by like bumpers Stanless side trim to come by fo two door cars. Looking at one and need to make a pretty quick decision. Don't have time to do a lot of research or it will be gone. Bumpers and stuff wouldn't have to be perfect for this project.

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
There are a few books you can get some parts from. Dearborn Classics is one. my brother has a bunch books for 61 Starliner.
I can find out from him what all he has and Rock Auto still has some parts.
Bumpers you can check ebay sometimes they have them

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
It already has a dove headed 460 in it. I don't know a lot about it. It has a pretty good sounding cam in it. Crane gold rockers good retainers and keepers after market push rods and guide plates. It's a new motor but guy who has it bought it and don't know much about it. Victor intake 850 DP. C 6 fluid looks good dont know any thing about trans it has no brakes not even a master cyl Just stuff I can see. Body is strait and not rusty. It's missing a lot small stuff. And some big stuff. I'm thinking of it as a gasser projuct.

The old yard close to my house has a lot of old ford stuff if you'd like to look for parts.

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
I have a 429 in my 63.5 (pretty much the same setup as a 64).
If you need any help, drop a line, I love these cars.
I think Dennis Carpenter makes brand new bumpers for these cars.
Crites also makes fiberglass bumpers if racing and weight are your goal.
Good luck,
Drew

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
I'll get some photos soon. It did happen. LOL. I'm goi g to look at glass bumpers. Plan is to make it a old type race car out of it. It has a nice engine in it. Want something I can foot brake maybe go to nostalga race at beech bend. Prob end up as a gasser style. Bug bit at us 60 race. Not looking for a 5 second car just want it to be fun and not cost a mint to run. I just pice my engine up for my race car, my son has his turbo rx7 drift car tore apart and scattered all over my shop. He only has one event left he can make before he has to go back to college. I know the guy I got it from. It is stored in a safe dry place. It will be much easier if I get these two put back together before I brin it home. So it will be a couple of weeks. I'll be looking for some good ideas from y'all.

Ward, something you might think about looking for later is a set of front disc's from a mid 70's ltd. They are a perfect bolt on.

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
yeah, those are what I used
With these tho you need to grind a little bit or the tie rods will not be able to get on all the way. Otherwise they work very well. I use a 2 pot master as well.
my car:
mine is a 429, full roller c6 I built, gear vendors, 4.30:1 rear gears, blah blah. nice cruiser really.
I don't know how far you can get in nostalgia racing with a 460..... I would think you'd need an FE.
anyway, good luck, they are fun cars.

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
I really like the 63.5 and the 64. Here is my new 64. Thankfully it doesn't need any bumpers or other parts because I have too many projects already. Ward you have quite the collection already but there is always room for another IMO.

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
Those are some nice rides. I've always liked them but have not owned one. I ll get it home in a few days get it on the lift and decide what to do with it. I am just thinking a simple cheap gasser project. I really don't need any thing else to do but I couldn't resist. If it turns out to be too good of a car to do a gasser or a race project I'll figure out something to do with it.

Re: 64 ford galaxie parts.
Have you ever driven one of these before?
They ride SOOOO well it would seem to be a shame to make one into a Gasser.

Take lotsa pictures!!!!
I'll link a few things here, they might not be helpful, but then they might be....
My car is a 63.5 but 99% of the gear is the same as a 64.
This is all tech stuff I've done that is Galaxie specific in the last couple years.
