Looks like the BOAT guy's are getting some help!!!!!
This is the post on Drag Boat Alley:
If you want some exciting news for our sport from Lucas, you should go to Page 40 of the latest edition of DRAG BOAT REVIEW (The Only Drag Boat Publication That Matters.... ) , for a release by Lucas....
It reads as follows....
Officials of Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri have been busy launching an expansion to the facility featuring a purpose built drag boat track.
Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Randy Bowman recently announced the addition of the drag boat acility on the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" grounds. COnstruction is reportedly already underway with completion expected possibly by the Fall of 2010, and plans are in the making to have two nationally televised events there per year.
"This is phemonemal," said Bowman. "These boats will go 230 miles per hour through the watery quarter-mile. 90 percent of the drag boats are based in the central states with a huge group in the St. Louis area, Oklahoma and Texas. It's almost 4,000 feet long and 300 feet wide and 8 feet deep."
After this past weekend, the only thing they need to change is that 230 mph dealio.....!!!
It's 623 miles, 10 hours and 10 minutes from my store....already have it in my Garmin....!!!!
So looks like we are getting a new Phoenix-style track.
