Playing around with my MSD ignition tester today.  Had a upper rpm miss 6800-7K, sounded like it was on the rev limiter.  Checked a bunch of stuff today.  Think it was corrosion on the dist cap terminals.  So, new cap, rotor, plugs, ohm'd the plug wires and crank trigger pickup.  Also checked all the injection nozzles and valve lash.

The tester showed good coil and ignition was good (MSD 7530T, Digital 7).  I have the high side rev limiter set at 7500.  Video is pretty cool.  Not a skip at all at 7500, at 7502 the limiter kicks in.  Pretty accurate I think.  2 rpm diff at 7500.  Thing is putting out some spark with that big HVC coil.

Yes, the plug comes with it.  Pretty nice little tool.  It allows you to check the ignition, coil, rpm switches, tach, two step, etc without the engine running.

Not cheap at around $275, but worth it if you are hunting a problem.  I went in with 2 friends on mine.  I'll picked it up from one of them a coupel of weeks ago and ill keep it until he or the other guys needs it.  We just pass iy around as needed.
