Holley Springs Miss
Planning on heading up and making a few runs on Sat. Hope to finally get a few hits on spray. Any of Y'all live close enough to make it out, bring your car ect.. It is a grudge race. Track is always good and not too hard to get to the starting line. Plenty of action to be had.

Re: Holley Springs Miss
Rain held off. I battled the chassis most of the night. It was hitting the bars hard. It was also having violent f tire shake. Track was like glue. Best it went was a 5.24 with a 1.23 60 foot. at 137 mph. This was on motor. Only true to spray it once. It went into tire shake before the nos ever came on. We killed a buch of timing trying to drop power but didn't get enough. I believe the track was too good and would not let it slip the tire at all. I was happy with it over all. Car went good and straight. Mph was good. Just need to get the 60 foot down.

I think so. It's best 60 foot is 1.16. I just need to put the 137 mph with the 60 foot. This was the first time I've had problems with tire shake. David Cole was with me. As well as a couple other good friends and racers. We just could not come up with a answer for it all. At least it is making some good laps now. It puts the fun back in it. I had to quit on them early my neck was giving me fits. It sucks to get old.

14/32 Hoosier. I ordered a set of 315 drag radials for my next trip to Holley springs. It is a very radial friendly track. That should be fun. Lol. Eveybody keeps telling me carbs and alcohol won't make power? I have been pleased so far.

Re: Holley Springs Miss
My neck is giving me fits. Dont think I'll be back in it for a while. I've run M/T s as well as hoshiers I like both of them fine. I don't think it was a tire problem as much as a tune , set up problem. I don't have much in the way of expierence with the level of power I have now. I ve always had less power and spray it. I want to spray this one but I have yet to get it down the track to my satisfaction on motor. I'm sure the converter is making it tricky. We are getting closer. I just hope I can keep driving it long enough to get it maxed out. My neck is about to do me in. One more surgery and my wife will pull my keys.

I wasn't the only car on slicks having issues getting down the track. When they prep the track as tight as they had it sat. a slick can't slip at all and want to wad the side walls up and tend to chatter. I really did order a set of 315 radials. Just hope I get to use them.

I'd like to see you get it going. It shouldn't be that hard to get it down the track with that much tire,IMO.dr's wife racing wrote:I wasn't the only car on slicks having issues getting down the track. Its not just Jon. Several people o have seen it run thought it was on spray. We had a bottle in it that one pass. It had tire shake and shut it off.
