Foot brake / MSD Box / Rev Limit
Hey all,
If for some reason I can't afford a trans brake this year, I have an idea I'd like to ask your opinion on.
My MSD Box has a Rev limit imput for a trans brake. Do you think I can just add a brake switch to activate the rev limit portion of the box? This way I can hold the brake, limit the revs and side slip the pedal on the last yellow?
I'm sure this has been done before so I'm asking.. Would this work untill I can afford a T brake?
Thanks,

Re: Foot brake / MSD Box / Rev Limit
We did this years ago with the smallblock car, had a button on the brake pedal above the pad, had it tied to a 2 step with one of those adj low rpm chips, set it to 2800 rpm, left with the gas WOT. For whatever reason the car at the time would hesitate real bad and this solved it.

For a professional test and tune application, the two step might help make the launch more consistent.
If you're on a quest for a championship, however, the two step may not be legal in a footbrake class.

Well I said I would not reply but I simply can not help myself , Since you run a " WELL PUMP MOTOR " wouldn't you want to plumb something to it instead of wire it the brake pedal ??

Thanks Randy! Jon had offered that to me before.. I'm conserned on my year of trans.. I'm pretty sure it's a 1970 and there are some differences in the VB for the C4.. If I'm gonna add a brake I want to send out my VB.. I was over at a different site and seen too many ppl that put early VB in a late case and vise versa.. Thoses guys wind up pulling their hair out untill they figure out what they did.
Thanks again for the add of info! Much Appreciated !
