Rev limit on T-Brake
So as I make my quest to get back out on the track, I decidied to reinstall my delay box and hook up the Trans Brake. Its been years since I ran anything other
than foot brake. When I did have the box in the car I had a 4200 rpm limit while on the brake. I think that is too high as the engine seemed like it was screeming!
So while foot braking, I usually leave around 2500-2600 rpm.
So here's the 10,000$ question. Can I drop the Rev Limit down to say 3,000-3500 while on the T-Brake without causing any damage to the engine?
I wired the box and brake up with plugs so I can easily take it out between runs, so I can run both Top and Mod on the same day!
Attached is an OLD video from years ago.
Any and all comments are welcome.

Re: Rev limit on T-Brake
heck, if you're comfortable at the 2500 number that would be okay. Most of my nitrous guys set their transbrake rpm about 3200-3400 rpm.

It wont cause any damage to the engine while on the brake at a Lower RPM??

No it won't, mine is set at 3600 and I've made 1000's of passes with it set like that

Re: Rev limit on T-Brake
I ahd a friend that used to leave on footbrake 2500 stall running 5.70s and he broke cranks left and right. went to 3500 and never had another problem.
slow mass we believe was getting the cranks.

What kind of rpm does a fuel car leave at? I foot brake mine some and never hurt anything and on the other hand i made a bunch of passes leaving on the converter @6400.

I have mine set to 3600 as well, I tried more but it hits too hard with my SSM bars so until they are changed I'll leave it there.

3,000 chip in mine. When I had line locks and no brake, I chipped it to 1,800 (adjustable chip)
