turning up the pump 92 f250

I know its not recommended but is there a safe amount to turn up the pump 7.3 non turbo gutless diesel? I ordered a pyro gage and going to leave truck siting till I get it hooked up but I turned it about a 1/3 of a turn and dose it ever pore the coal out of the stacks under load

Also I was looking at a parts truck for the transmission...my overdrive light is on the blink shifting hard probably do for a rebuild...the parts truck is 6.9 wondering if the transmission will bolt on my7.3 already have pedals want to switch to standard same truck just older figured use the driveshafts to

overdrive light blinking is a fault. look at the speed sensor that is part of the speedo assembly. bob

Light quite flashing and shifts nice again...guess thats the problem thanks...hopefully it fixed itself for good
