valve covers for P51 heads...

I bought the cheap ones wouldn't clear my stud girdle, I had to go with the kaase moroso ones he sells, If your not using a stud girdle I have some sheetmetal ones Ill make you a deal on..

Trick Flow cast aluminum will allow you to grind on that corner and still leave enough material for strength. The fab aluminum ones with the tubes inside for the bolts to pass through usually clear well.

so you had the ones in the ebay link above? I have the ebay sheet metal and they will take too much to clear. yes i am running stud girdles.the Kaase moroso clear with little grinding?I don't like the ones with the long tubes for the bolts.

I had the ones in the link above. Had to grind the corner a bunch. Didn't like how thin it ended up being. The Trick Flow covers have the bolt "boss' on the corner so you could probably grind away the inside and you still have the outside of the "boss' to secure the cover down to the head.
After fitting them right now they won't need much grinding to get them to clear. Should know more later this week when I roll the engine over to set the valves and run it on the stand...

The ford racing aluminum ones clear.

Another option if you haven't bought retainers and springs yet is to use beehive springs on the exhaust side.
