Lights out 7
I was watching some of the qualifying last night on Motor-mania, there is some fast shit on that property for sure. One thing I couldn't get over was how many people were standing around the burn out box and staging area. If you tried to do that at any of our local track you would be escorted off the property...LOL...The insurance provider can't be happy with seeing that. Eliminations starting tonight should be fun to watch. Hard as hell to get any drag racing on TV north of the border so thank god for Motor mania....Now I just need a smart TV to make it bigger.

Can't hook up your TV to use it as a computer monitor?

That's the local track for me come race time they make them get back most of the time. But they make a load of money off the 10.5 lights out races so they try not to PO to many people

Looks like a good spot. My local track is a temporary setup deal.

Yes the best track around this part all concrete smooth as glass and hooks great if you can't hook up then your setup is way off or you over powering your suspension

It's no different then seeing a Toyota valve cover on a top fuel engine - we all know the difference. I wonder how many of RVW drivers/owners actually build their own engines anyways.

Re: Lights out 7
We watched a lot over the weekend. Some really good racing and MUCH better than anything NHRA attempts to display on TV. We were amazed at how many people were allowed to "Hang Out" at or near the starting line. It's a matter of time before someone gets hurt, not just bad, but PERMANENT!
Which car was What Bumpers?
The finals of RVW... WOW what a race
But my favorite was Murder Nova crossing the finish line at 160+ mph on the rear tires!!!!!

Yes sir. We should have posted it up before the race. We did run into Mitch and Larry down there. I didn't bring my car but we brought a Mercury marauder for Open comp class.

There's not much of anyting but BAE hemi's and 481X based powerplants in RvW. That stuff is so expensive. I wish Mike Murillo would show up and run. He's got a 552 A460 block and heads with twins and runs deep in the 6's at over 220mph. He could definitely compete in RvW. Remember these cars are making between 2-3000HP.
Nuts.
I was there last year and it is a sight to behold. A pilgrimage you've got to make. One of the best races in the world.

And that's a shame. Both the BAE Hemi and the 481x deals are fine. It's all Alan Johnson based stuff/NHRA anyway. But you mean to tell me (not you per se) that a decent sized A441 headed deal (or newer) with an 18/71 roots on it won't be competitive? C'mon
I've been every year since I moved to Florida and continue to see the same trend not only in RVW but in OL DR and Pro X. I'll tell ya one thing though....I'm all but done with nitrous. I've long been thinking about a pro charger and the time is about right...

Re: Lights out 7
If you go pro charger I would go with a crank drive deal cause we kept shredding belts around the 7200 rpm mark in the stick shift car no matter what we did after 4 passes it would need a new belt.... what a PITA

Re: Lights out 7
We had a pretty good time this week. Didn't get the results we wanted but it drove back into the trailer. LOL
We are having an external oil pump and drain back issue that we've never had before so it was pumping the oil pan dry and the efi would kill everything to save the motor. On our 4.69 pass it shut off at 4.44 seconds into the run and we peddled it due to the front end coming up a little faster than desired.
