69' F100 street truck
I am building a 69' F100. The body is in painters jail. I am just finishing up the frame. I put together a nice 10:3:1 521 with FRP-SCJ B-heads, custom ground hydraulic roller, Victor single plane, Pro Systems 1000cfm carb. It will be backed up by a C6 and 3:70 rear gears. Cal Tracks suspension, and will be a drag radial truck. Feel free to give me input!

Re: 69' F100 street truck
I did do the dash. I bought a piece of mirror polished stainless steel and trimmed it to fit. Trimmed the stock panel to fit the gauges and then drilled the back-up holes. The back up holes have captured nuts. The pig-tailed as much as I could into the factory harness so it should be plug and play. The speedometer is electronic so that will have to be wired separately. The turn signal and high beam indicator lights are 3/16" aviation LED lights that can be bought off e-bay for pretty cheap.

Here is a picture of the backside of the dash

I finished up with the rotisserie and got the frame finished up and ready for paint. Going to finish the 9" and then it's painting time!

I got the chassis stuff painted today. Went with 1/2 gallon of deep black and then added 24 grams candy purple pearl / 20 grams of deep purple pearl. It looks black until the sun hits it and then it is a nice dark purple. Should accent the yellow pearl nicely!

I agree with dirt_worker, also if he's still has some of the longer brackets for the caltracs get them also.

Re: 69' F100 street truck
I dropped the rear 4.5" with the front and rear spring hangers. I did not notch the frame either. Not that I can't later. This is a driver for sure so, I can't get it as low as I would if I was going to keep it on the track I just don't want a stink bug either. We'll see how it looks for ride height when I get everything in it. I have everything to flip the axle at that time so not a big deal. I seen the three hole brackets from Cal-tracs. Dirt_worker, having not see your truck other than your avatar, is the three hole brackets needed? I can fabricate some up pretty quick if needed.OldRed70 wrote:I agree with dirt_worker, also if he's still has some of the longer brackets for the caltracs get them also.
