Re: 69' F100 street truck
Yes...unless you have it low enough. Ride height greatly affects the geometry of the caltrac system. Too sever upward angle of the bars is BAD. It creates lift on the rear of the vehicle instead of the front. Heres an example of how calverts bars wrked on my truck when I first put them on (as delivered from caltrac) back in 2007.
It took me along time to make it NOT launch like this.

Mine launches like this now... I finally got it low enough I didnt need the longer brackets.

Re: 69' F100 street truck
I sent you a PM Dirt_worker. I did a 4.5" drop on the rear with shackles. I believe that is about the same as an axle flip. I have everything to do the axle flip if needed. I would have to get new front frame perches as I modified these for the 2.5" drop in the front perches as well as the 2" drop shackles in the rear. It should be just about the same ride height as yours. I am waiting to get the truck at weight to see what the pinion angle is and ghange it as needed.. The engine is at 4 degrees and I can adjust it up as necessary to get the engine angle where it needs to be. I also have an extra set of leaf springs to adjust those as well. I am not anywhere close to the HP you are making but the radials are either hooked or spinning. I do have the adjustable shocks from caltracs so I can adjust rear shocks. I am looking at doing a coil over up front but will not, unless I have to. I appreciate the help!

Re: 69' F100 street truck
I finished up with the rear end, installed the motor for the final time hopefully. Getting the front suspension under it. I work a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off schedule. When I get home. I am hoping to finish it up into a rolling chassis! All of the polishing of the hardware is tiresome!

Got the truck into roller form. Mounted the front tires. Now to continue waiting for the painter...it's been 3 1/2 years...

Looks great!
Hopefully the body weight lowers the ride height a good bit. The bar is still at a pretty sever upward angle.

Re: 69' F100 street truck
Ya, for sure! I know I have at least 500# worth of fuel cell, battery, box, ect... to go over the back. Let alone the cab. But, I might have to cut the front springs to get the front camber in check. Regardless, I already have the flip kit for the springs, would have to weld new shock mounts on the axle, but no bid deal. I am going to get it to actual ride height and go from there. I appreciate the help!
