Distributors with mechanical and vacuum advance.
Thou this is a street car am i better off locking out the vacuum advance, and would 10 degree still be a base for proper starting and shut down?

Street cars need vacuum advance. Even locking out a distributor doesn't give you as much advance as vacuum, and you actually need 50+ degrees under some part throttle conditions. It's not just some lame emissions thing, the engine actually runs better.
